With traditional screen printing, the color separation, set up times and number of colors involved made printing complex and/or photographic imagery on darks very cost prohibitive. Rush charges made quick turns for small runs very expensive. DTG makes simulated process prints WITH a quick turn possible and affordable because the art file is printed directly onto the apparel item being decorated using ink jet technology, similar to a home or office paper printer.
This digital transfer service produces crisp, clear, full color designs, including photo-realistic images. They can be applied to a variety of fabrics, even those that are a challenge to embroider or screen print.
This is the time tested method to decorate items using plastisol inks that cure onto the fabrics. Screenprinting is available up to 6 colors per location. Often it is worth considering the Digital Printing option for a lighter, softer hand on the fabric with more color options.
This is achieved by using screens that are much larger than those used by our regular machines. We can usually accommodate sizes from XS to 6XL. The nature of these printing methods can create unique imperfections in the print area, most likely around the neck, seams, and armpit area so we consider anything within 1/2" registration to be acceptable where full printing contact cannot be made. Creases in the garment can cause absence of print in areas as well. That said, the look is exciting and unique for sure!
